The temple was founded in 1334 to pray for the soul of Ashikaga Ietoki. However, Kamakura had defeated at the battle of Eikyu, Mochiuji Ashikaga had been defeated. So I thought Hokokuji has the mean of the old end of Kamakura Shogunate Era.
