Antique Japanese Lighthouse in Uraga. For 220 years, even any damages given, no days had been turned off the lighthouse. At 1868, Kannonzaki Lighthouse was built, alternated of its role of Tokyo Bay traffic saving.

The landmark of Uraga, Tomyodo is Japanese small and Kannonzaki is Modern large.(*˘ᗜ˘*)
Before Edo era 1600's in Japan, sailing traffics were used with kagaribi torches, shrines and temples, there are no specific lighthouse. So in 1648, stable signal for sailing in Tokyo Bay, Tomyodo was built by Edo Shogunate. Using oil from plants and fish, the lantern was stable all night and success for illuminating for 4MN(7.2km).
