Saimyoji Temple had been built by Tokiyori Hojo for Kamakura Shogunate in 1256. His child, Tokimune Hojo, had been established Zenkoji Temple from the sprits of the Saimyoji. Further, in 1380 Uesugi's clan had extended the temple and named Meigetsu-in Temple due to the order by Ashikaga's. Zenkoji Temple had been abolished in about 1870's leaving Meigetsu-In.
