The principal lighthouse for Tokyo Bay in Yokosuka since 1869 built here, Kannonzaki. (* ॑꒳ ॑* )⋆* Before it, there was in Uraga near by Kurihama. The light was used with rapeseed oil and Japanese shoji windows, and now alternated with Fresnel lends tech. from France.

Kannonzaki Lighthouse had been started on Feb 11 1869, but caused by disasters, the lighthouse had been rebuilt twice. The fragment of the head ruins have remained on the beach.
