Long long ago in 1868. The oldest lighthouse was built in Kannonzaki Japan with French Western technology. At that time, Edo Shogunate had planed to build lighthouses in Japan for the signal for sailing routes, then he got the western engineering skills for lighthouses building from France(Yokosuka shipyard, Francois Leonce Verny). Kannonzaki Lighthouse had been started on Feb 11 1869, but caused by disasters, the lighthouse had been rebuilt twice.
