The principal lighthouse for Tokyo Bay in Yokosuka since 1869 built here, Kannonzaki. (* ॑꒳ ॑* )⋆* Before it, there was in Uraga near by Kurihama. The light was used with rapeseed oil and Japanese shoji windows, and now alternated with Fresnel lends tech. from France.

Normal glass-ball lens is heavy. Then some prisms divided lens - Fresnel lens - is easier to adjust their refraction so suitable for the stronger light for kilo-meters from the lighthouse, but not suitable to see detail characters.
