Uraga - from ancient capital of Kamakura, to high-level industrial town

Uraga had been Sagami clan like Kamakura and Odawara, until the Edo period for 1000 years. There are roads from Totsuka and Kamakura to Uraga. They were included in the old Tokaido. From Uraga, they subsequent to Chiba. In Edo era, Uraga was very important for Japan, had leaded to high level skills of shipbuilding in Japan. Of cource, the dock of Flemish assembled bricks in Uraga is involved of it.

It was an important role there in the quarantine after World War II.
